Dr. Nelly Bosire is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist with a passion for patient centered care and adolescent health. She trained at Moi University, Kenya, for her medical degree (MBCHB), graduating in 2007, and pursued her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in The University of Nairobi, Kenya, graduating in 2015.
Dr. Bosire runs a private practice at KMA Centre, Upper Hill, Nairobi, since 2015. As a passionate Board member, She brings to the Board her vast experience in serving a wide array of women and girls in her specialization, with a special interest in reproductive endocrinology, which leads to special attention to adolescent reproductive health; and women in the premenopausal and menopausal phases of life.
Further, she is the founder and director of Thriving Teens Foundation, an adolescent centered organization that supports adolescents through this transition period, especially those with special needs and chronic conditions. She is also the founder and director of Africa Health Governance Institute, an organization focused of supporting good governance in healthcare, with respect to strengthening health systems.
Dr. Bosire has previously served as a Member of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Council (2014 to 2019) and continues to serve as a co-opted member of the Council’s Disciplinary and Ethics Committee (2015 to Date). She champions sound health policies that protect the patient’s right to quality health care and is an advocate for patient-centered care.
